Become a Surrogate Mother

A Gestational Surrogate is a woman who carries the child (or children!) of parents who are unable to carry a child on their own. A Gestational Surrogate is not biologically related to the child or children she is carrying. By becoming a surrogate mother you are giving the intended parent(s) the opportunity to fulfill their dream of having a child.

The ideal Gestational Carrier is a woman who enjoys (or at least doesn’t mind) being pregnant and looks forward to the emotional rewards of helping others start or add to their families. At Life Through Surrogacy, Inc. every step of your surrogacy journey, from your first questions through the fertility process, pregnancy, delivery and two months post-delivery, will be carefully guided and coordinated by experienced and caring professionals who want you to remember this as one of the best times of your life. We understand all that goes into surrogate parenting and want to make sure our surrogates are emotionally and physically ready for the process. Aside from the satisfaction of giving the gift of life to a wonderful family, you will be generously reimbursed for your living expenses throughout the process.

Eligibility

If you’re considering becoming a surrogate, the first step is to determine if you meet some minimum qualifications before applying. If you meet the following eligibility requirements, we encourage you to fill out a no commitment initial application form below.

Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
Currently live in and plan to stay in the state of Florida throughout the process.
A valid driver’s license.
Between the ages of 21 and 42.
Has successfully delivered a child without complications.
Free of sexually transmitted diseases.
Has the support of her family. If married or partnered, the surrogate must have her partner’s support.

The Process

Becoming a surrogate mother consists of many mini-milestones that lead to the big delivery day. The process starts by submitting a non-committal initial application. The process remains the same but the timeframe depends on many factors like how quickly you’re matched with intended parents, how well you respond to IVF medications and time for embryo creation and transfer. Here’s a step-by-step guide to the surrogate mother journey:

1 Pre-screening

If the initial surrogate application passes the first set of eligibility requirements, you will be contacted by Jeannette to review medical records and conduct a background check.

2 Surrogacy Consultation

During this step surrogate mothers will have a video call with a surrogate coordinator who will explain the surrogacy process step-by-step. You can ask questions at any point throughout the process, and this is also a good time for you to discuss whatever may be on your mind.

3 Intended Parent Matching

One of the more exciting steps in the process, you are matched with the intended parent(s). When a match is made, there will be a profile exchange with the intended parent(s), then a video call. If all parties agree, the match becomes official! Life Through Surrogacy is working with many prospective intended parents waiting for the right surrogate match.

4 Medical Screening & Legal

Once you are approved by the intended parent(s)’ chosen IVF clinic, you begin to take medications. You will be required to attend local monitoring appointments to ensure your body is responding to the medications properly. Once your body is ready, an appointment will be set up for the embryo transfer.

5 Monitoring Appointments & Embryo Transfer

Once you are approved by the intended parent(s)’ chosen IVF clinic, you begin to take medications. You will attend local monitoring appointments to ensure your body is responding to the medications properly. Once your body is ready, an appointment will be set up for the embryo transfer.

6 Pregnancy

You will be tested to confirm pregnancy. Once pregnant, you will receive an ultrasound at approximately 8 weeks for confirmation of a heartbeat. During the pregnancy, you will attend all OB appointments and provide the intended parents with updates until the big delivery day arrives!
